McDonalds around the World: I’m Lovin’ it (Part 3) September 27, 2006

For McDonalds websites around the world check here…

I wrote the below article a while ago, but I saved it.

Observations in visiting the local country McDonalds websites:

1. Some countries particularly in the western world (probably those countries where “supersize me” documentary got distributed) readily made numbers available. In other countries the nutricional information I could not find, for instance most South-American countries.

2. Advertisement in regards to McDonalds meals being made from the best products, with large stories about where the ingredients come from: Belgium, Austria.

3. Athletes endorsing McDonalds food: Belgium.

4. On the belgian website it also took me ages to get to the information of the values. I had to do a series of health tests, either they are trying to deter me to get there, or I enter at my own risk.

5. The sound of the Bulgarian website, I don’t know what the female is saying, but the guy sounds seriously……sick.

6. Malaysia has McDelivery…..OMG OMG OMG. Sorry but I can’t help getting excited over this.

7. Malaysia, You gotta wonder why this website is in English, considering they speak Bahasa Malaysia there.

8. Colombia I can’t understand what they are saying, but the little helicopter flash animation what does that mean? The Colombian drug/war lords love to eat McDonalds in their helicopters?

9. In the US I have never seen a celeb in McDonalds advertising, this with exception of Ronald McDonald (every childs friend, and your tour guide en route to obesity.) But am I wrong to see an advertisement with Jamie Foxx for McDonalds Finland??? Can someone who can read Finnish comment?

10. On the McDonalds Pakistan website (corporate), the slogan says “Say beeeeeef”…….huh? What kind of slagon is that?
11. I knew that the cow is a holy animal in India. But it never occurred to me that they wouldn’t sell BigMacs.

Struggle of change: adult size naughty mat September 26, 2006

Filed under: Changes, Daily Log, Observations — 10000steps @ 10:28 pm

Though I am very excited seeing my body change. The physical battle, sacrifice and time commitment are simply a matter of having a lot to do.  Other then taking the time, and endure a bit of pain, it’s easy enough. The mental process I have to admit, is a lot to take.

Particularly the past weeks some really stressful things have been happening in my life, that are different from the ordinary humdrum.  I reach out for one of my friends. Those friends that live inside my fridge, or even better friends that can be delivered to my door, or my best friend served on a bun at a fast food place.

Now I have to result to scary things, things that are not my friend. Like feeling feelings, embracing emotions, dealing with emotional issues, and all that shit. And express that with appropriate responses and coping mechanisms. Instead of shuffling in the food, and surfing on to my favorite TV channel. Lift couch potato status up to a higher form of living.

I completely have to go against my conditioned response, of reaching for large quantities of bad foods. Now I have to stop myself and have to have little conversations with myself as if I am a 3 year old. “You can not have that food, as you do not need it, and it is unhealthy for you.” Then I bargain with myself “if you have that food, you are going to have to do X amount of minutes more working out and can not have any allowances for two days.” On ocassion I whine to myself: “but I have been so good, I really deserve some calories.” My adult self wants to hit my whiny self.  I constantly have to come to a screeching halt in front of my fridge and remind myself: “food is not comfort.” The child within me doesn’t accept this. Sometimes the child within me thinks she can cheat the adult within me.

I need to get a naughty mat for myself. I can make it a Large naughty mat, instead of an Extra Large one though. :)

It sucks. There is comfort in denial.

Crossing my legs September 25, 2006

Filed under: Not so bad, Observations — 10000steps @ 6:46 pm

(Alert, something I would never speak or admit to out loud, before I lost the weight.)

I can sit and properly cross my legs when I am sitting now.

I.e. have the left side of my left foot, touch the right side of my right leg when I cross my legs …..and vice versa. Sitting comfortably and relaxed, without feeling I am doing some special yoga work out.

YAY! Please proceed with your day.
